Jim's Retirement (2008)

Download Jim's Retirement (15MB, AVI)

This was my Major project for University. It tells the charming tale of a man who becomes really bored in an office.

Made using Maya, mental ray and Shake, this was my first attempt at a complete 3D animation project. Many thanks to everyone who helped along the way.

Update 05/2009!

Earlier this year, Jim's Retirement was screened at the International Festival of Cinema and Technology in LA. Now Jim is being featured in high quality on the website of cinema festival "HDFest". Many thanks to the organizers of both.

Mark Banks, aka bad dancer, has also used the film to construct a music video for his fantastic track "The Teacher". Watch it!

Animation Masterclass (2008)

A very short animation exercise for University, focusing on body mechanics and a bit of physical acting. The character is 'pjHogan' by P.J. Leffelman.

OddSpace (2008)

I made this thing at University while attempting to learn C++ and OpenGL programming. The end result was an experimental videogame.

My idea was to encourage players to work out how to play the game without any text prompts or instructions. The game begins with a black screen - as the player experiments, new visual elements and play mechanics are gradually revealed.

The idea worked well, but unfortunately I can't provide more than a video due to the code being a nasty hack.

Gibbon (2007)

A study of realistic gibbony movement. I met some actual gibbons for this.

More stuff shall be forthcoming soon!
